November 2019 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

The November Previews catalog arrived on Wednesday, October thirtieth for comics and products that will begin shipping in January of 2020. I will try to point out the new and notable items that I think might interest you. If there’s anything that you’d like, please try to let me know by the twenty first of the month so I can be sure to have enough copies on hand to fill your requests and subscription orders. Don’t feel obligated to subscribe to a whole series; if you’d just like a copy of the first issue of a new series to try it out, let me know and I’ll be sure to put a copy aside for you. And, especially with DC, if you’d like a particular cover let me know and I’ll do my best to make it happen. And if it’s past the twenty first there’s still a very good chance that I’ll be able to place your order and still get the books you want.

has to be the BOWIE: STARDUST, RAYGUNS & MOONAGE DAYDREAMS HC by Steve Horton and Mike Allred.

I’m a couple of days late in sending this; it’s the second of November, halfway through this years’ Tucson Comic Convention which curtailed business enough for me to read the catalog and write the newsletter over the past couple of days. A week ago Saturday we hosted the Halloween Comic Fest in conjunction with a benefit for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and we all had a great time and managed to raise $1,450.00 for that organizations’ good work. Which brings me to repeat my overwhelming gratitude for this community of friends and comic fans, family and artists that makes this happen four times per year. Our first benefit was in February of 2013 for the food bank, this past one was our twenty seventh and, so far we’ve raised a total of $31,560.00 for the five different charities we’ve been benefiting, and if that’s not a testament to the strength and compassion of this great group of people with the only commonality being our love or reading, I don’t know what is. I’m honored and humbled by your support. Thank you all and see you soon!

Some of the codes and abbreviations that I use are: HC (hard cover), TP (trade paperback), SC (soft cover), GN (graphic novel), OGN(original graphic novel-not a reprint or collection), MMPB (mass market paperbacks), AF (action figure), T/C trading cards, T/S (tee shirt) and (to denote an excellent writer, creator or title deserving wider recognition in my humble opinion).

Besides the monthly Previews catalog there is also an ‘Adult Supplement’ which showcases the ‘adults only’ comics, books and videos. If you are interested in seeing what’s available (and you’re over eighteen) just send me an email and I will send you this month’s adult catalog with images, descriptions and prices.

If you’d prefer not to receive this in the future, please respond with UNSUBSCRIBE; I’m not trying to spam you! I only send this to subscription customers or those who request it. (I won’t be insulted at all if you’d like to discontinue. When I proofread it each month I know first-hand how tedious it can be. Thank you.)
