February 2017 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

The February Previews catalog arrived on Wednesday, February first, coinciding with the Grand Reopening at the new location: 1421 S. Kolb Road. I will try to point out the new and notable items that I think might interest you. These solicitations are for comics and products that will begin shipping in April of 2017. If there’s anything that you’d like, please try and let me know by the twenty first of this month so I can be sure to have enough copies on hand to fill your requests and subscription orders. (Don’t feel obligated to subscribe to a whole series; if you’d just like a copy of the first issue of a new series to try it out, let me know and I’ll be sure to put a copy aside for you.)

If you’d like to follow along and see some images of covers and artwork you can go to www.PreviewsWorld.com and there are other articles at www.Scoop.PreviewsWorld.com, or you could sign up for the newsletter and maybe win prizes in the weekly giveaways at www.PreviewsWorld.com/subscribe.

I try to choose one comic from the new offerings that I think will be the best of the month and it’s often not an easy choice. Contenders this month include SHAOLIN COWBOY: WHO’LL STOP THE REIGN? From Dark Horse, PLASTIC #1 OF 5 and ROCK CANDY MOUNTAIN #1 from Image as well as the STREET ANGEL AFTER SCHOOL KUNG FU SPECIAL HC, X-MEN BLUE #1 by Cullen Bunn at Marvel and ELEANOR AND THE EGRET #1 from Aftershock and, as much as I like to have singel issues in this category my Pick of the Month for February is the ROUGHNECK GN from Jeff Lemire at Pocket Books. (Want to bet it wins an Eisner?)

The catalog arrived today which is the first day of February which is also new comic day and is also the day of the GRAND REOPENING at the new location (so, yeah, it was kind of rushed getting this written in time). We’re kicking off the celebration with a ten day sale on thousands of comics priced at only TWENTY FIVE CENTS EACH! The sale will run from the first through the tenth of February and then, on SATURDAY, the ELEVENTH OF FEBRUARY will be the first of this years’ quarterly fund raising events. Artists will be on hand to provide free sketches and autographs, there will be original art and rare and signed collectibles that you could win by way of the Silent Auction, there will be a One Dollar Raffle to win graphic novels and action figures, there will be fun and cosplayers and the event will run from Ten AM until Five PM with all proceeds to benefit the good work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!

I suspect (and hope) that the new, bigger and better located shop will bring new customers but without the support and friendship of all of you who get this newsletter in your email every month I wouldn’t be at this point. I’m grateful and humbled by your generosity and good hearts supporting these benefits and volunteering to help get the new shop renovated and just want to thank you all.

Peace,

Charlie
