St Jude Children's Research Hospital Benefit & Raffle

    Dear Friends:

I'm back in the plaza at Speedway and Craycroft and by the first of February I'll have all of my back stock available again and I plan on doing quarterly charity events again.   The first one will benefit the good work of the fine folks at the St Jude Children's Research Hospital.  It will take place all day, from ten AM until five PM on Saturday, the second of February.  There will be a raffle for prizes, raffle tickets will be two for a dollar and there will be a coloring contest for the kids to win prizes.  Some of the artwork the kids will be coloring is featured here under the 'Kid's Corner' tab.  There will also be a silent auction for donated original art and, of course there will be local comic artists and writers promoting their books and doing sketches.  The creators that have confirmed their attendance so far are:
Henry Barajas, writer/creator of 'El Loco', Captain Unikorn' and journalist for 'Comic Beat'
Santino Castaneda, contributor to Evil Robo Press' 'Ash Tray Comics' anthology
John Chihak, writer/creator/artist of 'Youth in Asia' and 'Fuzzyface'
Eric Esquivel, writer/creator of Moonstone's 'Black Terror', 'Thor, the Unkillable Thunder Christ', Big Dog   Ink's 'Electric Youth' and Boom! Studio's 'Freelancers'.
Michael Macropoulos, Xeric Foundation winner and artist of many projects.
Ernesto and Beatrice Romero, writer/artist/creators of 'Breed' and contributors to 'Girl Scouts in Space' and 'Break the Walls: Stories inspired by the Songs of the Pixies'.
Ian Snyder, artist of Big Dog Ink's 'Ursa Minor'
Christian Vilaire, artist/creator of 'Captain Unikorn'.
Ryan Huna Smith, artist, co-creator of 'Tribal Force', fine artist, painter.
Mariah Wall, artist, editor, creator with Syndicate Press.
There are still more artists yet to confirm and I'm expecting some superheroes to attend as well so bring your camera; Superman will be there providing no major intergalactic crises interfere.  Check back as I will update this page as more details are solidified.  Mark your calendar, support local artists and help the St Jude folks work towards a cure.
         Talk to you soon,
